Week 8

Here are the blogs I commented on this week:

Matthew’s Blog:

Hi Matthew,
I agree with your choice on that animals shouldn’t be abused. Since I used to work with rescue animals a lot, it is very important to me on this topic. I have one question though. How come you said animals shouldn’t be in cages when you have to during vet visits? I mean for mostly cats and other animals. Also, do you mean that all animals should be in the wild?

Alina’s Blog: (This one was hard to comment on since it was one sentence.)

Hi Alina,
That is very interesting that you have so many animals. At my house I have a zoo of them. Five cats, 1 dog, 2 aquariums, and 1 hermit crab. Is there any other reason you love animals?

Moses’s Blog:

He Moses,
I’m a huge fan of football, and I don’t think your going to b happy with the team I like. Let’s go Raiders! What I love that you say is that you are staying loyal with the Eagles even though they aren’t doing well. The Raiders haven’t made playoffs since 2002 and I’m still a fan. Lets hop the Eagles can put something against the Pats!

Week 7- Nature!

For this week, I thought of this email my grandma sent me about some crazy tress. I would translate the page if you have the option. Here’s a link to the website- http://mp.weixin.qq.com/s?__biz=MzA3MjE1MTU4Nw==&mid=400017444&idx=7&sn=bbf1be781bdcae0ba36840b06534becc&scene=1&srcid=1018D4B4it8ZDVRNuDDJDsPl&from=groupmessage&isappinstalled=0#rd    I will include some of the pictures from it in this paragraph.

Trippy Trees

Trees. Wow how they vary and are amazing. CO2. O. You want to know what that gives us, it’s LIFE. Without plants or trees we wouldn’t be here today. Every living thing needs oxygen and carbon in their bodies. Oxygen mainly is to give your body air to breath in, but you need hemoglobin to pass that oxygen around. Guess what is in hemoglobin. It is iron, and iron is also essential to our lives with calcium, gold, hydrogen, all of those elements. Well I could get all science nerd on you guys, but all I’m trying to say is that nature makes our lives possible. Think: If there were no plants, no trees, where would the cute little creatures be? GONE! What about those super scary spiders we find in the bathroom? Well gone too (yes). Okay well without trees and plants, there is nada. No life at all. This is why nature is so essential to daily life.

What makes trees so special? Good question. We know oxygen and all of that science junk, but  it really isn’t. Well you may say that a sapling is puny and is nothing when it can become a giant. So people no hating on the trees. Trees are the structure to all of the ecosystem and have many organisms associated with them. Also, many trees are from the Stone Age (not literally). I mean some are thousands of years old, but you have trees living in the hundreds. Wait you are saying they had no technology? They are trees people, they aren’t people. Here’s some history of trees, and to start off is that trees have been here way longer than us. Most likely, they were the first plants to be around on Earth. What is great about trees is that there are so many of them and not just one kind.

Even though trees seem boring and just sticks, they aren’t. So far of what I have wrote has to do with trees and plants giving off life and the history, but they are even a hobby. There are people that study and find trees for fun and here are the things they do. For example, some botanists look at the leaves and how they are shaped, color, and all sorts of categories. Next is the bark. Well some taste it and others see patterns in it and color. Then comes the pointy trees, round, and pretty much whatever tree. Oh, I forgot to mention about the branches and that they study those too. All in all, trees make life possible plus make an interesting hobby.

Hoow’s Blog-http://hoow20.edublogs.org/2015/10/30/my-halloween/

Hey Hoow,
Saying that you don’t really do much for Halloween surprised me a little bit. Even if I don’t go out trick-or-treating, I go hang out with a group of friends. You should go look up how Halloween came to be because it is very interesting. Check out my blog- jeremyblye.edublogs.org

Kathryn’s Blog-http://kathrync20.edublogs.org/

Victoria’s Blog-http://2021ven.edublogs.org/

Hey Victoria,
I never knew that for Halloween there were bonfires included. The facts you provided about Halloween, I knew some of them and the others I didn’t. What stuck out to me is that the bonfires were included to get bugs and other creatures. Check out my blog- jeremyblye.edublogs.org

Wilao’s Blog- http://wilao.edublogs.org/2015/11/02/celebrating-halloween-week-4/

Hey Wilao,
Your post is really spectacular. I like how you have transformed to seeing Halloween in a whole new sense of what most people don’t do. I’m not wanting the candy as much either, but I just hang out with my friends. Check out my blog- jeremyblye.edublogs.org

Gisele’s Blog-http://giselew06.edublogs.org/

Hey Gisele,
I think that a lot of people are like you in the blogging world. It’s okay to be like that, but I have a suggestion for you. Think of if you are talking to someone or a friend about the subject. Write how you would talk to them and express yourself. Check out my blog- jeremyblye.edublogs.org

Week 5 Activity 1- FOOD

Oh wow. How there is so many food choices to choose from. Well I guess I have to say popcorn. It literally surrounds in our every day lives. To our cabinets, movie theaters, stores, gas stations, and pretty much everywhere else. In an American life, you will see people eating popcorn quite a bit. Even at school, my friends have different varieties of popcorn. Kettle corn, buttered corn, peanut butter corn. Well heck, I even have a frozen popcorn store near my house. The flavors are like frozen peanut butter with dark chocolate (my favorite), marshmallow with milk chocolate, and you name it they have it. Here is a link with a whole bunch of top American food we eat and it is- http://travel.cnn.com/explorations/eat/best-usa-travel/top-50-american-foods-513946

Here’s some pictures of it. Yum.

Allegra’s Blog- http://allegraw06.edublogs.org/2015/11/01/australian-food/

Hi Allegra’s Blog,
I was wondering what the fruChos are because to me, they sound like fruit with chocolate and I’m down to eating that. Also, do you have a favorite food by any chance. Check out my blog- jeremyblye.edublogs.org

For the rest of the people I went off of Taco Tuesday comments to find other people out of the country.

Emme’s comment-

Hi Emme,
In the U.S, we have it about the same, people just eat whatever there is to eat. With lunches, it varies every day and I like that about lunch and food in general. Check out my blog, jeremyblye.edublogs.org

These were all the people about food posts/comments out of the country I could find.

Week 4 Activity 2- Scary (not) Story

It was in a dark, gloomy room where this stranger told this story.

So you know there was this guy who told this story and this is it. Once on a night like this Halloween night there was a kid and this kid was so spooky. His costume was a banana. But this was no ordinary banana. It was big, skinny, and brown (I know isn’t this scary because I’m freaking out right now). The thing that was horrible was what this kid had to go through. So he was trick-or-treating and he was walking and walking and some more walking when he hit a tree. What sucks is he got NO CANDY! Yeah this is spooky, let me try something else.

I lived in a house from hell for four years, from age eleven to almost sixteen. There was constantly something happening. Doors flying open and shut, voices, footsteps. Nothing ever stayed where you put it. I was alone there a lot because both my parents worked and I was constantly terrified.

One of the most gut-level disturbing things though was the little girl in my bathroom. Every time I walked past my bathroom door (which was constantly since it was right outside my bedroom) I saw a little girl with blond curled hair and a rose-colored dress. She just stood there, staring, looking like a photograph from 1905. I started keeping the door closed so I could walk by without seeing her, but she was always there when I opened it. Once I stepped in past her, I couldn’t see her anymore but I could feel her there. She scared me, but I felt really sorry for her because she was trapped there, just like me, but probably forever.

As the years went by and things in the house continued to get worse, she started seeming… darker. I started feeling like she wasn’t really a little girl. I knew there was something ugly in the house and I felt like it was presenting this sympathetic image to me. Then I started thinking I was completely losing my mind. When I finally moved from this house, I was so very happy. On the other hand, she was still at this house so yeah.

Week 4 Activity 3- My Halloween

Ever since I have moved school districts, I don’t do Halloween with my newer friends, but with my older friends. Every year we get together and trick-or-treat and then hang out. I really enjoy this because pretty much all year, I don’t see these friends. It’s nice being able to catch up with them and just hang out for the whole night and the next morning. I guess my Halloweens aren’t very exciting, but I enjoy doing it like this.
