To make a background in my blog, I chose a a raven in the moon. This is really a Halloween themed photo and something you may not usually see. Most are jack-o-lanterns or a werewolf, so I decided to do something different. I thought this would be nice to show a raven in the moon which shows the eerieness of Halloween. To me this represents how the loneliness of being outside at night and hearing a bird is pretty spooky. I guess that’s mainly why I chose this. The website I found this picture is on https://pixabay.com/. Pixabay is nice considering it has easy pictures to find plus a huge variety. I thought about decorating my blog even more, but there is nothing else that I thought I could add. Please comment if you think of anything that could spice up my blog even more!

 

For this activity I decided to interview my mom about her grandfather or my great-grandfather.

What was his name?

A: Robert Wood.

What kind of personality did he have?
A: A quiet, but very engaged man in the world around him.

Is there anything special about him?

A: Treated all twenty of his grandchildren equally. He enjoyed to have fun. He loved to EAT.

What major were going on through his life?

A: World War One, The Depression, World War Two, Korean War.

Did he serve the army?

A: Yes, U.S. Army in World War One.

Why was he named Robert?

A: Just a name that his mother liked.

Was he known for anything?
A: Yes, the Canadian government gave him land to immigrate from the U.S. to teach them how to farm tobacco.

Did he have any sports teams he liked?

A: Detroit Lions, Detroit Redwings, and Detroit Tigers.

 

To choose a widget for this activity, I chose the most popular post option. I thought this widget would get more people interested in my blog causing it to spread. If people don’t like the ones under the widget they can look at my other ones, but I thought this would be the most useful.

Throughout this experience, I haven’t learned much about images. I know that yeah they are used to show people things, but in blogs you have to cite them and tell if others can use the image. In my opinion, this activity is pointless because telling what you have learned about images just seems like a waste of time to me. I really don’t comprehend why we need to understand about images, but I mean it’s a blog so anything can happen.

I’ve always wondered when I was younger what it would be like to be a mouse when you were being chased by a cat. This week, I thought it would be perfect to talk about this. Whenever I was 4 or 5, I remember watching Tom and Jerry and thinking, “What if I’m the mouse in this show?” I mean yeah that’s pretty cool you are a mouse and all, but you would have that cat chasing you. Just imagine your puny little mouse body compared to this “gigantic” cat animal chasing you for no reason. I guess it would be scary and you would just run with all of that adrenaline pumping. Well, what if you were a mouse and didn’t have a cat, but the open world. Now that’s a whole new conversation I could get into. Too long. What point I’m trying to make is to just imagine. Put yourself in the situation of Jerry and visualize it.

One event that has to be one of my favorite with my family is going to Disneyland. One thing I bet you are all thinking is, really. Disneyland. Well it wasn’t because of the rides or being there. This was mainly because of everyone was getting along for a whole day. It was nice to have my brother not arguing with my mom which made my mom upset. Then she would get mad at the smallest action I did. We would all get mad at each other, but this day was perfect for me. Everyone was enjoying the day and what happened for a first was that my brother actually smiled!

Since I was not able to find any pictures of my relatives that have died, I chose to write about Robin Williams.

This man committed suicide which was very depressing, yet he was someone pretty hilarious. Whenever I was young, I would watch his movies and I loved them so much. For example, some main movies I saw were Jumanji, RV, Night at the Museum, and Flubber. Even nowadays I will still watch his movies from every now and then. The main reason I chose Robin Williams is that he was someone I knew of well when I was young and that he isn’t here anymore. His decision to end his life was very depressing, but we all know he is in a better place now.

Through this activity, we were asked to complete a practice comment on Ms.W’s page. This is what I wrote.

So far I have enjoyed completing these blog challenges. Completing these challenges helps me become stronger in blogging and writing as one person. Sometimes, I have trouble with these things and ask people for help, but now it is all up to me to figure everything out.

For Week 2- Activity 2, I commented on Ms. Smith’s page with this comment

One guideline of commenting that really stuck out to me was your conventions of a comment. Always in writing, texting and comments I see OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I agree that with doing this it makes no sense. Does it mean you are just that much more excited about a subject than someone else. Also, the fact that when commenting people use i, u, lol. I like the fact that you have pointed it out since so many people use texting language in their everyday lives. Another thing I have noticed is when people don’t revise their blogging or comments. It just makes a blog or comment look horrible. I read Liam’s blog and I loved the fact he loves pets. He reminds me of my family with a zoo of animals. Five cats, a dog, a hermit crab, and two aquariums.
